Oreo cheesecake- too good to be true

Photobucket

This cake was baked for my Muslim classmate. You know I came from a Chinese school, a christian school so I hardly have any Muslim friends. So this was a big challenge to me- baking a HALAL cake.

My other classmates told me that the utensils I use are not suppose to touch pork at all. And also the ingredients used has to be halal. Fortunately, I hate baking cakes which requires gelatin, so the ingredients were safe. I had to be extra careful with the utensils though. I did not use the chopping stone this time. Instead, I used a plastic bag and roller to crush the Oreo. And also I melted my butter using a microwave instead of a double boiler.

I brought the cake to seoul garden (where we celebrated her birthday) and after a super heavy meal, everyone still ate the cake and they were full of compliments.

One of my classmate asked "Where did you all buy the cake from?"
I was stunned, and exclaimed "I baked it!!"
I was really happy though.

I hereby wish my classmate, A HAPPY 17TH BIRTHDAY!
